
Lms Partners Announces Support For Local Cycling Star, Leon Mazzone
LMS Partners is delighted to announce its sponsorship of local cyclist Leon Mazzone. Leon has just started his 2018 campaign with his new professional team ‘Holdsworth Pro Racing’. Leon has also been selected to represent the Isle of Man at the 2018 Commonwealth Games which started on 4thApril 2018 on the Gold Coast of Australia. Leon has been named in a strong looking men’s road race team and joins 31 other Island athletes from various disciplines at the Games.
Leon is 21 years old from the north of the Island, Ramsey. He started cycling at Ramsey BMX track at the tender age of 4. He said “I have always had a passion for cycling as long as I can remember, racing Mountain Bikes & Road Bikes. I progressed through Dot Tilbury’s youth league on a Tuesday night to the Junior (U-19) scene”. He has been multiple Manx Champion at Juvenile & Junior level on the road and the time trial event as well. Leon has also represented the Isle of Man when he was just 16 at the Island Games hosted by Bermuda, where he earned an Individual bronze medal in the Mountain Bike Criterium. Then 2 years later in the Jersey Island Games, he swapped over to the road, collecting another individual bronze medal & three team Gold medals. At the age of 18, Leon made the big decision to move over to Belgium where he spent three years developing with a top Amateur team leading him to sign this season with Holdsworth Pro Racing.
LMS Partners will be providing funding to support travel costs for his UK and International competitions. Leon said "I am proud to announce that LMS Partners will be a new personal sponsor for 2018. I am very much looking forward to working with them during the up and coming season, including the Commonwealth Games. This year is set to be an exciting one’
